How long will my appointment take?

Your appointment can take up to 15 minutes

Can I fast before my appointment?

If you haven’t fasted before a blood test, certain test results may be less accurate.

Some blood tests, such as Complete Blood Count (CBC) and Thyroid Function Tests (e.g., TSH), are usually not affected by eating or drinking before the test

Can I drink water on the morning of my test?

Yes, please ensure you are hydrated as this will be crucial for your blood draw. If you require hydration before your test, please ask a member of staff.

When will I get my results?

Most results are ready within 48-72 hours. You can choose to collect your results in person or have them sent to you electronically. Please ensure you leave your details for electronic results

I can’t see the test I want?

No worries! We offer a wide range of tests and we can’t possibly list each one here. Please ask in-store, call us or contact us via this website to enquire about the blood test you would like

1. Arrival and Check-In: When you arrive, you'll be greeted by the staff.  Let the staff know you have an appointment, you may need to confirm your name. 

2. Consultation: You will have a brief consultation with our trained phlebotomist (a person trained to draw blood). They’ll discuss the purpose of the tests, make sure you understand the process, and confirm any preparation you may have done (like fasting). This is also a good time to ask any questions you might have.

3. Preparing for the Blood Draw: You’ll be taken to a comfortable room where the blood draw will happen. Please ensure you are hydrated. You will sit in a chair, and the healthcare provider will apply a small band (called a tourniquet) around your arm to make your veins easier to find.

4. The Blood Draw: Using a small needle, they’ll draw a sample of blood, usually from a vein in your arm. You might feel a small pinch, but it’s generally quick and only takes a few seconds. If you’re nervous about needles, let the staff know—they’re experienced in helping patients feel more comfortable.

5. After the Blood Draw: Once the blood is drawn, they’ll put a small spot plaster on your arm, and you’re usually able to leave right away. If you’re feeling lightheaded, let the staff know, and they’ll help you feel more comfortable before you go. Drink plenty of water after your appointment to help you feel your best.

6. Results: You’ll typically receive your results within a few days, though it depends on the types of tests. You can choose to come back and collect them or have them e-mailed. If you would like to discuss your results please make a separate appointment via our website. Please note this will incur a £30 charge
